Introduction: Erectile dysfunction (ED) is the inability to achieve or maintain a satisfactory erection, and negatively affects self-concept, understood as the individual’s perception of oneself. Objectives: To determine the relationship between ED and self-concept in hemodialysis patients at a clinic in Aguascalientes, in order to provide evidence to guide comprehensive interventions aimed at improving sexual health and strengthening self-concept, thus contributing to better emotional adjustment and quality of life. A cross-sectional, quantitative, and relational study was conducted with a sample of 77 patients. Method: Two instruments were used for data collection: the Self-Concept Form 5 (AF5), with a Cronbach’s alpha of 0.81, and the International Index of Erectile Function-5 (IIEF-5), with an alpha of 0.90. Results: The results showed that 83.1% of participants presented some degree of erectile dysfunction, with mild being the most frequent (38.9%). Regarding general self-concept, 44% showed a high level, 20.77% very high, and another 20.77% a high tendency. Conclusion: Erectile dysfunction is common in patients with chronic kidney disease, so comprehensive care is suggested, including medical treatment, psychological support, and strategies to strengthen self-esteem, especially in its physical dimension.
