Introduction: The importance of self-care for adolescents with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) falls in this period since formal thinking begins. Likewise, at this age there is a greater risk in therapeutic actions, which affects their quality of life. Objective: Identify the association between self-care and perception of quality of life in health in adolescents with ALL. Method: Quantitative, non-experimental, transversal, prospective and explanatory study; with a non-probabilistic convenience sample. The Self-Care Agency Rating Scale and PedsQL Cancer Module 3.0 instruments were applied with a reliability of 0.74 and 0.85, respectively. Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS 25. Results: Self-care in general is classified as “medium capacity for self-care agency” and quality of life reports an average of 2006 points. A high positive correlation was found (r = 0.65; p = 0.015), and an influence between the variables of 43%. Discussion: Agreeing with Torres et al., a positive correlation was identified between the variables which determines that the greater the self-care, the greater the quality of life. Conclusion: Self-care plays a fundamental role in the health quality of life of adolescents with ALL.
